Description

Black tea from the Anhui region of China. Keemun tea, perhaps the most famous of Chinese varieties, is prized for its rich chocolate-like flavor, and sumptuous aroma. Our 'Keemun Rhapsody' is a hand-made, limited production 'superior mao feng' grade tea. It is a rare embodiment of this tea's wonderful potential, with taste bud entrancing cocoa notes, biscuity nuances, a whispering fruitiness and a flickering shadow of classic Keemun smokiness.

Story

Keemun is a region of China that lies within its Anhui province. Until about a century ago, this region produced only green tea, which was unremarkable at best. However, once the local farmers switched to the manufacture of black tea, the results were spectacular. But not always. Keemun teas come in a wide range of quality, some quite pedestrian, some simply sublime. The finer grades of this tea are known as Keemun Mao Feng and Keemun Hao Ya. Both are produced by hand in very small quantities, making them pricey, but often well worth it.

"This tea wasn't as smoky as most people advertised. It wasn't too shabby, but there is much better black tea here to purchase!"

"I just love this tea! Love, Love Love it! What I like about Keemun Rhapsody, that ia has a robust, full body tea with coco notes with a touch of smokiness. This is the perfect morning tea to get out of a rut with the same basic breakfast blah black teas."

"This tastes like a typical Keemun. If you don't like smoky teas, this one isn't for you. Definitely not one you want to steep too long, becuase the smoky flavor can get overpowering. Overall, this is a good Keemun, and it is relatively smooth when steeped correctly."

"This tea was good. It reminded me a little bit of the yunnan noir, mixed with golden monkey mixed with fujan baroque, so all in all it was good but I felt like it didn't have much of its own distinct flavor. "
