Description

Black tea from Ceylon, decaffeinated using a superior CO-2 process. The latter is all natural and gentle, allowing tea leaves retain their delicate shape and flavor. Ceylon is Sri Lanka's colonial name, and the tea that grows here continued to be called this.

Story

Ceylon is the old name of Sri Lanka. And all the tea that is grown here is still referred to as such. Most of the plantations are located in the hills, south of Kandy. The most famous tea-growing regions are all in the highlands: Dimbula, Uva and Nuwara Eliya. The high-grown teas, those cultivated above 4000 feet, tend to be superior to the lower-grown varieties. Ceylon's finer qualities - delicate flavor and sweet aroma - are typically found in its high-grown teas.

"This surprised me. I thought tea bags had ruined my idea of ceylon but this really is a lot better."

"I ordered this one just to have some at home for those avoiding caffeine. I personally do not care for caffeine free tea."

"I needed a decaf black tea for the evenings and this got the job done. It teeters on the edge of bitterness no matter how long or hot I brew it, but tastes fine. This is infinitely better than any grocery store tea, but falls short of most (caffeinated) premium black teas here on Adagio."

"This has become my basic tea. Great straight or poured over ice; fairly tolerant of me forgetting to take the leaves out."

"I was hoping this would be a great substitute for ceylon sonata when I make iced tea, but it wasn't. Decaf tea is never as good!"
