Story

Hawaii was accepted as an American state on Aug. 21, 1959, making it the 50th in the United States. Under-sea volcanoes that erupted thousands of years ago formed the islands of Hawaii. More than one-third of the world's commercial supply of pineapples comes from Hawaii, and it is the only state (unwise enough) to grow coffee. The state flower, which natives refer to as "Pua Aloalo" (common name is Hibiscus flower), is presented on leis to dignitaries who come to Hawaii as a symbol of old royalty.

"Decent, but I probably will not reorder this for myself. A friend of mine really liked it, so perhaps I will order it as a gift for him."

"I highly enjoyed this flavor. I was nervous because I had bought a hibiscus flavored tea at a local Chinese market and it, frankly, tasted like dirt. Not earthy, mind you, just plain unclean dirt. Adagio's hibiscus tea is soooo much better :) Don't tell anyone, but I mix mine with a bit of amaretto liqueur and it's delish :)"

"VERY fragrant and fruity, a bit sweet. Definitely not for people who don't like flowery teas or sweet teas. I enjoy both so I really do like this tea. No bitterness or chalky aftertaste, just a nice clear flavor. I enjoy this as an afternoon tea. I brew 2 level tablespoons for 3.5 minutes in my IngenuiTEA. "

"Perhaps I'm simply not familiar with hibiscus as a flavor but I find it a bit too acidic and bitter for my taste. Completely drinkable but I probably won't reorder."
