Description
Give your love the rich taste of chocolate-dipped strawberries. But without the calories, fat or heavy guilt that usually follow. It's our sinfully rich and amorous Valentine's Day Tea. Black tea from Sri Lanka with the rich taste of dark chocolate and fresh summer strawberries. Great taste and no 'love handles.' What could be better?
Story
Although there were several Christian martyrs named Valentine, the day probably took its name from a priest who was martyred about 270 AD by the emperor Claudius II. According to legend, the priest signed a letter to his jailor's daughter, whom he had befriended and with whom he had fallen in love, "from your Valentine." The holiday also had origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery.
