Description

An interesting twist on the old Moroccan Mint tea, which traditionally combines Gunpowder tea from China with fresh peppermint. We kept the latter, and replaced the smoky notes of Gunpowder with the muscatel highlights of a First Flush Darjeeling from India. The result is fresher, smoother and - we hope you'll agree - a nice improvement on the original.

Story

Gunpowder is the favorite green tea of Morocco and the Middle East, where it is commonly prepared with mint and plenty of sugar. The local custom dictates that it be served by men, and be poured in such a way as to create a sizable foam atop one's glass. Gunpowder tea is often mixed with peppermint leaves to create a unique blend called Moroccan Mint. In a novel twist on the original, we kept the fresh mint, and dispensed with the smoky gunpowder. The latter was replaced with a smoother spring tea from Darjeeling, India.

"I don't like this as an everyday tea, but it is a great one if you have have a sinus/ allergy thing going on or sore throat. It is very soothing and just the right amount of mintyness. "

"I have never liked mint teas much, because it's the one flavor I don't like to be very strong. In some of the reviews I read on this site, people seemed to say the same thing, and said that there was a perfect amount of mint. I have to say that they were right, and this tea is fantastic. I still have an opened sample of Cocomint I only ordered based on how much I liked this mint, and I'm planning to try it tomorrow."

"This batch I received needs more black tea. Still good, but too much mint."

"Good mint flavor, but does not completely overpower the green tea. Delicious tea."
