Description

Combining savory almond flavor with the bright, fruity taste of Formosa oolong tea, our Almond tea is a great stand-alone drink as well as the perfect dessert complement. In fact, it is so versatile that, if you don't like our Almond tea, you're probably the one that's nuts.

Story

Almonds are mentioned as far back in history as the Bible. They were a prized ingredient in breads served to Egypt's pharaohs. Their exact ancestry is unknown, but almonds are thought to have originated in China and Central Asia. Explorers ate almonds while traveling the Silk Road between Asia and the Mediterranean. In the 18th Century, aided by the Franciscan monks, the almond tree made a leap to California, where it found a hospitable home. A large almond industry is now based in the Sacramento area.

"It isn't as almondy as I was expecting. Still it tastes like it can go well with some cream, which I will try next time I make this. I only used sugar."

"The smell is very strong before you brew it, but the taste is not as strong. It takes a few seconds to get used to it, but the taste and smell complement each other. Definitely nice for a cold day."

"Eek. Very strong aroma from pouch. Brewed less aroma. Very 'fake' almond taste. "

"This is a great flavored tea. The almond is not overpowering, and if you add a tiny bit of sweetener (honey for me), this is a mildly sweetish almond tea. Great!"

"The almond flavor is not as pronounced as I expected, but a nice, light oolong with naturally sweet taste. I imagine it would taste delicious iced, and plan to try this in the summer!"

"This tea is nicely paired with anything containing nuts. Even when steeped for a very short time, it can be fairly strong in taste, so pairing it with other strong tastes works well."
