Description

Rooibos, colloquially known as Red Tea, is an herbal plant that grows in South Africa. Rooibos is a flavorful alternative to tea for those seeking to minimize caffeine intake. Our "Rooibos Almond" is a top-grade organic version, flavored with pieces of almond.

Story

Almonds are mentioned as far back in history as the Bible. They were a prized ingredient in breads served to Egypt's pharaohs. Their exact ancestry is unknown, but almonds are thought to have originated in China and Central Asia. Explorers ate almonds while traveling the Silk Road between Asia and the Mediterranean. In the 18th Century, aided by the Franciscan monks, the almond tree made a leap to California, where it found a hospitable home. A large almond industry is now based in the Sacramento area.

"I like the idea of Roobois almond better than the execution. The tea is of a fine enough quality, but the almond/marzipan-y flavour just isn't doing it for me the way Roobois Vanilla and Rooibos Caramel did."

"Pretty good but the almond has a stronger smell than taste. May be better mixed with a stronger flavor. "

"The almond seems rather subtle in this, but it is still very good (and caffiene free)."

"A good Rooibos but a little strong. A similar but better option for me is the Rooibos Caramel. "

"This tea tastes a little strange to me. The flavor seems a little medicinal to me. I do not like it on its own, but I do drink it blended with wild strawberry and honeybush chocolate teas."
