Description

A wonderful introduction to the wide range of white teas. Each sample makes about 5 cups of tea. This set includes (though subject to change without notification):

silver needle - Silver Needle white tea is among the most revered of Chinese teas. Gathered only for a few days in early spring, a dedication to perfection is evident in the pale, ivory colored liquor. Delicately honeysuckle floral, with a warmed sugar sweetness.
snowbud - White tea from Fujian, China, gathered in the early days of spring. An airy, light tea, which yields a cup worthy of its name: very delicate body, with a clean, barely sweet aroma and effervescent texture. Our lightest, most gentle tea.
white symphony - A delicate tea made from tea buds collected and withered prior to opening. It create a pale yellow, light bodied, yet complex cup with hints of honeydew and a faint floral sweetness.
jasmine silver needle - Young and elegant tea leaf buds with a whisper of jasmine. All the appeal and softly sweet nuances of a classic Silver Needle, enhanced with the aroma of night-blooming jasmine flowers. Airy flavor, delicate mouthfeel and pleasantly dry finish.

"As someone with relatively little experience with white teas, this was a great way to try a few different ones."

"This was an enjoyable introduction to white tea. I particularly enjoyed the White Peony, which had flowery hints and a slightly citrus aftertaste. The White Symphony was very smooth with a pleasant aftertaste reminiscent of goat cheese. My favorite was the White Needles, a tart and floral taste with perhaps an aftertaste of olives. The Jasmine White Needles was strongly floral with the most noticeable astringency of the group. Each tea has held up to multiple infusions, which has also been great. "

"I liked 3 out of 4 of the teas. Often times very weak tea, and floral."

"5 stars for the teas with the Pai Mu Tan (aka White Peony) being my favorite. 1 star for the overall value. (With barely .4 ounces of tea per package, I think this is a fair assessment.) "
