Matcha Chocolate in bulk available for wholesale. Matcha, the focal point of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, is a fine powder made by grinding green tea leaves. Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder. Easy preparation is achieved by placing 1 teaspoon of matcha per cup (or to taste) in a cup, adding a few drops of hot water (160-180F) and stirring with a spoon until a paste forms. Add the rest of the water and stir.

Our matcha comes from Uji, Kyoto, Japan, and is a first harvest, spring tea. A Samidori cultivar, it is considered a high grade for everyday consumption.

This tea contains a high level of caffeine | Steep at 170° for 2 minutes.

Ingredients & Lore

blended with matcha tea & natural dark chocolate flavor

Japanese matcha, blended with natural dark chocolate flavor, becomes the best of tea sweets (wagashi.) Can be served hot with 1 tsp chocolate matcha whisked together with 8 oz. of hot (160-180°F.) water. Sweeten to taste with sugar or stevia. Or, try it iced with 1 cup brewed matcha (1 tsp to 1 cup hot water) plus 1 cup of coconut or regular milk, to taste, and 1 tsp of honey or agave. Put into a blender with 4 to 6 iced cubes and whirl until light frothy. Makes 2 servings of airy deliciousness.
