Nepal First Flush

Description

This beautiful hand crafted small estate tea from the Nepal Himalayas rivals those from the highly acclaimed Darjeeling region. With unopened leaf buds interspersed throughout, this first flush is complex and delicate. The cup color a clear golden yellow and the aroma is floral, slightly sweet with an underlying buttery note. The first sip reveals a touch of the floral nature usually found in excellent Darjeelings, but with a tender touch of ripe fruit. We hope you will enjoy this graceful addition to our black tea repertoire.

Story

Lying between China and India along the Himalayas, it was just a matter of time before tea plants were sown in Nepal's rolling hills. In 1861 that's exactly what happened, bringing forth tea harvests similar in character to those of the more famous nearby Darjeeling. Over time, the slight differences in soil, climate and pristine mountainsides have given Nepal teas a unique, elegant character of their own.

"So light and fresh that it's hard to believe this is a black tea. The flavor is unique and extremely bright. You will feel cleansed after drinking it. "

"It tastes mild and generic. I can't detect the all the flavors described. Not bad, but certainly nothing special. "

"I really like the way this tea smells. Although its taste wasn't as strong as its scent, it was still quite good. The tea was almost a little spicy, which was a welcome surprise."
