Description

Huang Jin Gui is an Anxi oolong whose name means "Golden Flower." A lightly roasted oolong our "Bolero" reveals an intensity with hints of honey and flowers you will find enticing and seductive.

Story

Fujian province is one of China's most prolific tea producing areas. These teas account for one-fifth of China's total tea output, and the consistently high quality keeps them in demand. A coastal province (Taiwan lies just to the east, across the Taiwan Strait), Fujian benefits from an excellent climate, combining mild temperatures, abundant rainfall and very mountainous terrain. The misty mountain scenery is a mainstay of traditional Chinese art. In fact, the traditional description of Fujian is '8 parts mountain, 1 part water and 1 part farmland.' Fujian has a long history of cultivating tea: over 1,000 years.

"In my quest to find a more budget friendly alternative to the beloved jade oolong, I came across this tea. Yet, even though its slightly rolled tea leaves, light color and flavor do remind one of my favorite tea, it pales in comparison. It is pleasant enough for an occasional cup, but my search continues."

"I loved this oolong. I highly recommend trying several steepings (at least 3) to get a nice evolution of flavor."

"This is a bit grassy like a green tea, and has a musky quality to it--like melon or alfalfa hay. Not my favorite oolong I've tried, but still very enjoyable."

"This is such a great tea! I love floral tasting tea and this is the perfect tea for me. This is going to be my everyday tea. I could drink this everyday all day long, I just hope they can keep it in stock now that I've found it! I'm new to Oolong tea I hope the rest are as good as this one!!!! A "

"It comes off tasting roasted and finishes with a fresh floral taste. This tea will can be re-steeped once, but I haven't tried twice. "
