Anji Duet

Description

A very special tea produced in Anji Zhejiang, our Duet is a green tea with white tea characteristics. Its light, delicate cup provides soft fruit notes like a fine white tea but also some chestnut sweetness and the lingering floral finish of a premium green. Produced in the early days of Spring and available in very limited quantity, our Duet is a rare find.

Story

Zhejiang is actually China's largest tea producing province, and home to Dragon Well (or 'Longjing') green tea. Gunpowder green tea is also traditionally from Zhejiang, as is Tian Mu Qing Ding, from the breathtaking Tian Mu Mountain. Zhejiang shares a border with another important coastal tea province, Fujian.

"I think this is the variety that is being discontinued....what a shame. It's definitely tops at our house."

"I enjoyed this tea for its simple and straightforward good 'green' flavor. It didn't really stand out much for me, but it has a good taste."

"It's aroma gives a uniquely, inoffensive bitterness. This leaf is pleasant to drink."

"Great Green! Smells light and sweet but really stands up to when steeped. The body is full and lively with good deep green vegi complexity. Barely 180 and around 2mins is good, second steep does well too."

"A good green tea for 'beginners' who haven't tried much green tea. Not too strong, and a bit on the sweet side. A good one to drink at bedtime. Very relaxing!"
