Earl Grey Bravo

Description

Black tea from Sri Lanka, flavored with oil of bergamot, a citrus fruit and blue flowers. According to legend, this tea is named for Earl Grey, a British Prime Minister, to whom a Chinese noble entrusted its secret recipe for saving his life. Unfortunately, this story is not true. But we hope this won't prevent you from enjoying our exquisite 'Bravo' version of the popular Earl Grey tea.

Story

It is said that in 1830, an Englishman named Charles Earl Grey traveled on a diplomatic mission to China, where in return for his act of kindness, a local mandarin presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. A few corrections are in order. Firstly, the Chinese have never been black tea drinkers, and were unlikely to have a recipe for Earl Grey to bestow on visitors. Secondly, Charles Earl Grey never set foot in China. Otherwise, the story is completely true.

"I love early grey! This one has quite a bit of bergamot, so if you like bergamot then this is the type for you."

"I absolutely could not stand this tea. When I opened it, bergamont and flowery soap smell came wafting out. So I used 1 teaspoon, 1 cup, 212F, 2 minutes. WAY too strong. Again, for 1 minute still too overpowering. Can't get away from the acidic perfume smell. Threw it away."

"Anyone who says that they dislike earl grey tea should just take a whiff of this fragrant mix - great hot or iced, can mix with flavors. Thinking about this aromatic tea makes me want to make a cup right now. "

"I am a big fan of Earl Gray in general, and this is a really good one. I used to drink a lot of different brands of Earl Gray, but have settled on the Adagio version. "

"This is a great Earl Grey. More floral than most, it has a very smooth and natural flavor. Be careful not to oversteep, though - the Bravo can get pretty astringent and overpowering if you don't treat it right."

"Classic Earl Grey flavor. Probably best drunk straight."
