Description

Black tea from the Darjeeling region of India. If you enjoy Darjeeling tea, you are sure to appreciate this 'wonder.' Our 'Darjeeling Rhapsody no. 2' is a second-flush (summer) hand-made 'wonder' tea from the upper reaches (7000 feet above sea level) of the Gopaldhara estate. It is a gorgeous-looking clonal tea with a sublime taste to match.

Story

Darjeeling is a town situated along the slopes of the beautiful Himalayas, 7,000 feet above sea level. It, and the tea plantations that stretch around it, are often enveloped in mist. This unique climate, and the region's loamy soil, combine to produce arguably the most prized tea in the world. But there's a downside to this fame: each year more tea is sold under the name of Darjeeling than can possibly be produced. Most of the imposters hail from the nearly Nepal, which shares some of Darjeeling's characteristics but rarely measure up to the original.

"This tea has a wonderful light taste to it. I'm typically not a huge black-tea fan because black tea is often too strong for me. This one, however, is perfect. Steep for the whole 5 minutes to get all its delicious flavor. This tea is now on my favorite's list!"

"A nice, mild darjeeling. I like adding a little apricot to it sometimes. A good breakfast tea."

"I've given up coffee for good, and after 20 years in the Navy, my blood is half coffee. This tea has become my first cup in the morning treasure. 4-5 min @ 212 works fine, and in the afternoon I'll add just a very small pinch of casablanca twist for a minty infusion. I love darjeelings, and this is fantastic."

"Great aroma and deep complex flavor. I'm not tasting the green tea flavors that other reviewers have commented on. Definitely a bit of a sweet tone. A little too expensive to be my every day tea. It gets cracked open for my weekend treat."

"This is premium black tea. Wonderful taste and smell. Easy to brew but I would probably use cooler water as it has some characteristics of green tea. Maybe boil it and wait for a minute. "

"A nice, full-bodied darjeeling. Very tasty; I ordered the sample but *will* be ordering a 4oz. when the sample is up. Must have for any darjeeling fans. "
