Description

The original, classic cup of English Breakfast was made with black Keemun tea from Anhui province in China. Across many generations, plenty of different interpretations have been made. Our English Breakfast stays close to the classic. Made from fine quality Keemun, prized for its rich, slightly smoky flavor and perfectly 'on point' astringency. Balanced, very honeyed aroma. May be enjoyed plain or with a drop of milk. English Breakfast remains one of Adagio's most popular varieties.

Story

The English required a tea strong enough to wash down their beloved Fry-up, a typical morning fare of fried bacon, sausage, mushroom, eggs and tomato. The rich but refreshing black teas of Keemun were found to be an ideal beverage for all this cholesterol. English Breakfast was also instrumental in the Monty Python spam sketch (waitress: 'Well, there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam...')... which thereafter gave annoying and unsolicited emails their nickname.

"I loved this tea. I am a Keemun fanatic and this tastes alot like Mao Feng. I have suspicions that it is, but I may never know..."

"This tea has a bold, fresh taste. Exactly what I was looking for in a black tea."

"I enjoy this tea every once in a while. Not a very distinct taste."

"I have been ordering and drinking Adagio English Breakfast for years. I loved it. Recently, I'm not sure for how long ago, maybe my last two orders, something changed. Initially I thought it was me, but then it became too obvious to ignore. There is now an overwhelming honey aroma to the blend. I like honey. A lot. But not in my tea. I have tried many times to use honey as tea sweetener, but I just abhor it in that role. When I came here to find out what happened I saw that Adagio had edited the description of the tea to include this strong honey component. Fair enough. I didn't read the description because I had been buying it forever. Shame on me. But I hate it. The English Breakfast that I loved is no more and I'll have to find something else. I'm posting this only to get the flavor information out there, and maybe also a little bit in the hopes that Adagio will see it and return to the old blend. "

"A solid standby black tea. The flavor is not particularly nuanced in any way, but it's still good."

"Great smooth taste, always makes me remember why I drink bagged tea less and less."
