Description

Rooibos, colloquially known as Red Tea, is an herbal plant that grows in South Africa. Rooibos is a flavorful alternative to tea for those seeking to minimize caffeine intake. Our "Rooibos Earl Grey" is a top-grade organic version, flavored with the essence of bergemot.

Story

It is said that in 1830, an Englishman named Charles Earl Grey traveled on a diplomatic mission to China, where in return for his act of kindness, a local mandarin presented him with the recipe for making this distinctive tea. A few corrections are in order. Firstly, the Chinese have never been black tea drinkers, and were unlikely to have a recipe for Earl Grey to bestow on visitors. Secondly, Charles Earl Grey never set foot in China. Otherwise, the story is completely true.

"I was worried that this would be tart like the Earl Grey Bravo, but I am glad to report that it has a smooth and refreshing flavor. The light citrus flavor is an nice pairing with the Rooibos."

"The rooibos tends to add an odd flavor to the earl grey. Not a tea for everyone."

"Would taste great with a cream flavor. So I mix it with Cream tea..to make creamy earl grey."

"This is a drinkable tea. However, it just doesn't compare to actual Earl Grey. It's a weaker tea and leaves a weird feeling on the tongue. (I agree with an earlier reviewer's comment about a dirt-like aftertaste.) My biggest issue with it is the overpowering chemical smell. Earl Grey smells awesome, but this tea smells closer to household insect repellents. Very off-putting. It's truly 'ok' and nothing more."
