Enjoy a hand-made work of art whole lineage weaves through Chinese history for more than 2000 years. The rare Zi Sha clay, meaning purple sand, solely used for the creation of these teapots is only found in the city of Yixing in the Jiangsu province of China. Traditionally used for gong fu style steeping of fine oolongs, they can also be used for other premium teas. This teapot will absorb the essence of the tea, so its recommended to dedicate a Yixing to a particular type of tea. Historically, Zisha teapots were only for the privileged. We are pleased to present them for all to enjoy. Made in China. 10oz (0.3L).

Fresh From Origin

The city of Zibo in Shandong province was once the powerful State of Qi, during the Spring and Autumn Period in ancient China. Shandong has played a major role in Chinese history, from the very beginning of Chinese civilization: its home of sacred Mount Tai, and the birthplace of Confucius. Zibo is significant for sports fans, too. According to FIFA, cuju - believed to be the original form of football, dating back to the Han dynasty - was invented in Zibo.
