Formosa Fancy Oolong #40

Description

Oolong tea from Taiwan. Formosa, meaning 'beautiful' was what the Dutch explorers called this island. The oolong tea grown here continues to be called as such. The intense pungency and exquisite bouquet of Formosa Oolong tea is regarded to be the finest in the world. However, only the finest of Formosa teas warrant the label of 'fancy' grade. This is such tea. Our 'Oolong Symphony no. 40' has dark, silver-tipped leaves and produces a mesmerizing cup of delicate peachy notes and warm, soothing flavor. Well deserving its nickname as the true champagne of teas.

Story

Formosa, meaning "beautiful island" is what the Dutch traders called Taiwan. The teas grown here, mainly north of Taipei, continue to be called as such. Taiwan's unique soil and climate contrive to produce a perfect oolong. Its growing and manufacturing processes had often been copied, but a tea of equal splendor is not produced anywhere else in the world; Taiwan's oolongs are among the finest in the world.

"Tea was pretty good, had an earthy flavor to it, it was a sort of deep flavor that lingered in my mouth."

"Great Oolong, my favorite. Longer steeping seems to work better for me."

"Very smooth and light. Lighter than what I'm used to, but it was still very good. Hardly any lingering after taste and almost no astringency. Really quite nice."

"This tea is good but not worth the price in my opinion. The flavor is very faint. I much prefer my Oolong #8 at a much cheaper price."
