Description

According to the International Ice Cream Association, Vanilla is by far the most popular flavor, getting a full 23% of all ice cream consumption. Inspired by this love of vanilla, Adagio has created Vanilla Green Tea. Combining the delectable flavor of sweet vanilla beans and delicate Chinese green tea, I'll scream, you'll scream, we'll all scream for... Vanilla Green!

Story

Vanilla story begins with the Totonaco Indians of Mexico, who were the first to unearth its secret. They fell to the Aztecs, who were in turn soon conquered by the Spaniard, under the leadership of Harnando Cortez. Cortez brought his precious plunder, including a few beans of vanilla, back to Spain. He also brought back cocoa. The two were mixed together, and the Spanish nobles spend the next hundred years indulging in the pleasant drink. It was only in the 17th Century that the taste of vanilla became valued on its very own.

"I really love this tea. It has incredible vanilla flavor while still being recognizable as a green tea - though the teas flavor is not quite as clear as in other flavored teas here."

"When I first smelled this tea in the tin, I initially was concerned that it would be too sweet...It smells like buttercream frosting! Once I brewed it, however, the sweetness fades some and your palate is greeted with a gentle earthy flavor associated with green teas with vanilla undertones. I drink this tea without sweetener and it is delicious. I am going to try making iced tea with this. "

"This tea smelled amazing, nice and warm, almost buttery. But once it's steeped it has a light refreshing taste to it. The vanilla is very delicate and offers a lightly sweetened after taste. Very pleasant."

"I simply love this tea. The vanilla mixed with green is just right. The smell is divine and it has just the right amount of vanilla. It is simply delicious and so comforting on this cold, dreary day."

"Very mellow. The vanilla goes nicely along with the green tea flavor. Neither came on too strong or too weak..."
