Description
Ginger peach tea has become an American classic. Our version has the soft warmth of ginger with the sweet depth of summer ripe peaches and apricots in a fine Ceylon black tea. Enjoyable anytime of year as a hot tea, we find it to be particularly refreshing iced.
Story
Ginger is indigenous to southern China, from where it spread to the Spice Islands and other parts of Asia. Chinese herbalist continue to call upon ginger to expel cold and restore depleted yang. In the Middle Ages, ginger was brought to Europe by the Arabic traders. At the time, it was primarily used for ginger tea, said to be effective in fighting colds and flu. During Victorian times, shakers of ginger were as common a table accessory as salt and pepper. Today, India is the largest producer of this yang-inducing herb.
