Description

Our Orange Black tea combines fresh and brisk Ceylon black tea with the flavor of juicy, ripe Florida oranges, playfully accented with orange peel. Zesty orange rind dryness, with hints of soft, sweet orange juice (makes a great balance). Crisp and refreshing cup.

Story

Orange, a common fruit these days, has a long and questionable history. Many countries claim to be its birthplace, including China, India, Burma, and Malaysia. During the Middle Ages, the fruit traveled from Asia to Europe, then along with the conquistadors to the lands of the New World. In its new home, the orange plant became fruitful (so to speak) and multiplied. Today, the Americas are the largest orange producers in the world, with most production clustered around the areas of Sao Paulo in Brazil and Florida in the United States.

"This is great as a mix-in with other teas - thus far, I have mixed it with the cranberry and mango black teas and liked the results."

"I can tell you what this tea isn't good for, rather than if the tea is good as a hot brew. I was desperate for tea to make sun tea, and I had to use this one, as I was out of other kinds of tea to use. Not good as a sun tea...too bitter...but had I brewed it as a regular hot tea, it might have been much better. Got this as a free sample, but I might try it again in the future maybe as a blend with something else."

"Be careful not to over-steep. I'd give it 3 minutes and no more."

"Not only does this tea smell delicious, but it tastes delicious, too! I love oranges and this is such a wonderful treat! I think it will make a good base for creating some really neat blends, too!"

"Flavored black teas are often bland and need to be combined with others to become palatable, but this is one of the few where one flavor is all that's needed. The mild citrus flavor is delightful on its own, and it's also a wonderful complement to other 'fruity' teas such as pomegranate and strawberry."
